Climate Change Causes Tiger Attacks

This story, or one like it, is being told more and more: Climate changes is causing problems for animals. In the Sundarban Islands of India, rising water levels are swallowing islands, and poisoning mangrove trees with salt water. As a result, the animals that the local tigers prey on dying. Now, it’s hard to get people to care about animals, but when the animals start causing problems for humans, THEN you get a headline.

So, here’s the headline: Starving Tigers Attack Humans Out of Desperation. What? They’re eating humans? NOW we’re worried. Now we care.

I’m not really sure what can be done about this, except that there are some links for saving tigers included in the story. But I guess the real point is this is another reminder that global warming is causing serious and tangible problems.

Perhaps drilling in Alaska is the solution?
